I build add-ons for Cin7,from purchase forecastingto landed costs.

What I’ve built.

Cin7 Omni is the version I work with most, and I check how a job fits your edition before we start. These four are some of what I’ve built. Others push Shopify orders into Cin7, read customer purchase orders into draft sales orders, keep a two-way copy of Cin7 in your own database, show margin at true landed cost and run a data health check every night. Results go back into Cin7, or into a file someone checks and imports.

  • Landed costs

    Before

The customs broker’s bill arrives and someone splits it by hand, once as lines on a Xero bill and again as landed costs on each Cin7 purchase order.

    After

The tool reads the broker’s or forwarder’s bill and the customs declaration together. It puts duty on the order it belongs to and splits fees across every order on the shipment by customs value. Accounts get a Xero bill and the Cin7 costing to check.

  • Supplier invoices

    Before

Supplier invoices arrive as PDFs. Someone opens each one to work out which purchase order it belongs to and when the goods will land.

    After

You drop the PDFs in, scanned ones too, and the system reads each invoice and adds the lines back up against its printed total. A read that’s out by a cent gets refused. Each line is checked against what you ordered on the purchase order, purchasing confirm the matches, and the tracking goes into Cin7.

  • What to reorder

    Before

Working out what to buy means exporting stock levels and recent sales into a spreadsheet and going on what the buyer remembers about each supplier’s lead time.

    After

The forecast works from your sales history, the stock you hold, the stock already on its way and each supplier’s lead time, measured from their actual deliveries in Cin7. It’s an alternative to Smart Buyer and it’s backtested against past sales. It recommends the order with the landed cost and margin showing, and a person raises the purchase order.

  • Supplier price changes

    Before

A new price list comes in and someone builds a spreadsheet to work out sell prices, then keys them into Cin7 one product at a time.

    After

The system reads the list whatever its layout and holds back any product it can’t match. It works out each sell price from the new supplier price and your landed cost, taking in freight, customs, the exchange rate and pack size, then applies your margin rules. Whoever looks after pricing checks the file and bulk imports it into Cin7.

One shipment, start to finish.

I build these with the accounts and purchasing staff who’ll use them.

  1. 01

The broker’s bill arrives by email with the customs declaration attached.

  2. 02

The system reads both. It takes each line’s customs value from the declaration and uses the earlier supplier invoice match to find the purchase order.

  3. 03

Duty goes on the order it belongs to, and fees are split across every order by customs value. A duty line that looks wrong is flagged for a suspense account until the broker credits it.

  4. 04

Accounts check the split, then import the bill into Xero and the landed costs into Cin7.

Start with one job.

I start by sending you a short list of where I think I could save you time. Once we’ve picked one job off it and agreed the scope, I build a prototype in two weeks for a fixed $3,000 plus GST, connected to your Cin7 account and tried on your own data. If it’s useful, I keep building on a monthly retainer. See pricing
